International Mother Language Day (IMLD) is a worldwide annual observance held on 21 February to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism.
This link is a brief message from our SIL International Executive Director, Michel Kenmogne (we work under SIL in Cameroon):
“We long for people to experience what God had in mind when He created human beings in His own image. The tragedy of the fall resulted in the alienation of humanity from God, from self, from fellow humans, and from creation. Flourishing is about the restoration of this four-fold relationship. SIL’s various engagements all share the same goal: to see people reconciled with God, in whom they can find their true identity and satisfaction; and to give each human being a sense of personal dignity and worth…”
— Dr. Michel Kenmogne, SIL Executive Director
Please pray and celebrate with us as we work with minority language groups in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea!
